Available Scholarships

Students in Year 6 entering Mother Teresa Catholic College in Year 7 are invited to sit a written examination covering Literacy and Numeracy. The Scholarship will be awarded to the top-performing students. The College offers up to four scholarships to the value of the tuition fees for academically able students.
Each scholarship is tenable for Years 7, 8, and 9. The Principal reserves the right to withdraw a scholarship should the recipient underachieve or seriously breach College rules and regulations.

Mother Teresa Catholic College is committed to ensuring that all students have access to a quality Catholic Education.
The College is offering an Aboriginal Student Bursary because of our commitment to work with Aboriginal people to assist in providing broad career opportunities for young Aboriginal people. The provision of Aboriginal Bursaries complements the current schemes, which assist families with financial difficulties and support students with other special needs.
SELECTION CRITERIA
To apply for an Aboriginal bursary at Mother Teresa Catholic College, the applicant must:
Seek a Catholic education.
Demonstrate regular attendance at Mother Teresa Catholic College with a minimum of 80% attendance per semester.
Possess a desire to attend a Catholic secondary College, with intentions to pursue a career upon Year 12 graduation.
Have a positive attitude towards learning, together with sound literacy skills.
Have sound cultural awareness and be able to share one’s Aboriginal heritage with peers.
Participate in extracurricular activities that promote a deep desire for full involvement in College life, including (but not limited to): school choir, homework club, after-school sport, or be employed on a casual or part-time basis.
The Principal must provide a reference.
Have his/her application endorsed by a member of the Catholic Education Aboriginal Committee (CEAC) or an Aboriginal Corporation to ensure that the student fulfils the definition of being Aboriginal*.
In order that the application be processed, parents must be supportive of their child’s learning endeavours.
*The official definition of Aboriginality that is accepted by government and Aboriginal community is a three-part definition.
1. Is of Aboriginal (or Torres Strait Islander) descent
2. Identifies as Aboriginal
3. Is accepted as Aboriginal by the Aboriginal community in which he/she lives.

The Music Bursary at Mother Teresa Catholic College is awarded to students who demonstrate an exceptional level of talent, passion, and commitment to the field of music. This bursary recognises individuals who actively contribute to the growth and prominence of music within our College, helping to cultivate a thriving musical community.
To be considered for the Music Bursary, candidates must:
Show a high level of musical ability and commitment.
Contribute meaningfully to the music culture at the College, through performance, leadership, or other artistic endeavors.
Through this bursary, we seek to support and encourage students who are dedicated to advancing their musical journey and enhancing the artistic culture at Mother Teresa Catholic College.
